Z60 and 2 little issues

As my initial 30 day testing period with the Z60 comes to an end, overall I have to say that it has been nothing but reliable and an absolute beast at both vacuuming and mopping in my house. I have multiple animals and a young toddler and this has kept up with the high demands of dirt, messes, and pet hair.

I have experienced 2 slight issues while running the Z60 daily, but these also aren’t issues that are major show stoppers at all in my book. The first one is that the magnetic top cover has popped up and off a few times because the robot has turned while very close to a metal table leg and the leg hit the point of the cover and it popped it off. Not a huge deal as it doesn’t seem to happen consistently and it also doesn’t stop the robot completing its task.

The second small issue has been with navigation and going in a circle in open floor when there is no obstacle or anything at all blocking it. It seems to only happen on my darker wood flooring, and more often at night. So that may be coming into play here. It seems that the Z60 thinks there is something to avoid and that’s why it is going around it. Either way it seems to happen a couple times during a cleaning task at night. This doesn’t have a huge effect on the cleaning efficiency or thoroughness as it’s not missing huge areas or anything like that. I have attached a screenshot of a recent cleaning that shows what Im talking about.

Other than these 2 slight issues, I haven’t experienced any major issues that would cause me to question whether this is a worthwhile product to buy. It has been nothing but reliable and a workhorse.

Hello,

The robot’s obstacle avoidance sensors use infrared detection. When infrared light is emitted and reflected by objects, highly reflective surfaces may sometimes cause the robot to misjudge distances, which can lead to collisions. In such cases, we recommend setting these areas as no‑go zones.

Additionally, the robot is equipped with cliff sensors on the underside. Due to the physical properties of infrared light, when operating on very dark carpets or dark flooring, these sensors may be triggered, causing the robot to display avoidance behavior as if it were near an edge or drop.

We therefore recommend cleaning dark‑colored rooms when ambient lighting conditions are sufficient, as better lighting can help reduce this behavior.

We hope this information helps.
