Crossing a threshold

Hi,

We have a sunroom that was added to our house to replace an existing deck.  The sliding glass door is still there, so I sent the Z60 out to clean the room which means it has to climb the door jamb.

I have the Retractable legs set to Hurdle style.  As you can see in the videos - going into the sunroom was no issue.  However, coming back in was quite the challenge.  In fairness there are 3 levels that it has to climb coming back into the dining room.  There is about a 1/2" step up to the trim, then another 1/2" or so to the actual door jamb then over the door jamb itself.

The videos show the various attempts and at times they are humorous.  In the longer of the 3 videos - the Z60 made 3 attempts to get into the house.  Once it raised up and just stood there looking at me.  I felt like it was asking for help...but then it tried again.  My 2 dogs, Jack and Ollie found it funny, I guess, to keep going in and out.  Maybe they were trying to show the Z60 how to get in...not sure.  If you want to fast forward past the attempts - at about the 3 minute mark you will see Ollie go out and back in and then out again.  At that point, the Z60 backs down off the threshold again and appears to be looking for Ollie.  When it finds him, it looks like it rolls a couple inches towards him before deciding to make another attempt.  I think Ollie may have ticked it off!!

All kidding aside, it finally did make it into the house which you can see in the final video.  I was impressed with how many times it tried.  I actually thought it would stop and basically be stuck where it was, but it didn't.  I was a little concerned with every time it backed out - it dropped a little on the floor.  I included a picture of the bottom of the unit after it made it in and emptied the dust bin.  As you can see, not a mark on it.

I have tried again with the same results.  So I will probably do one of the following in the future -
       1.  find a rug or something that will make that first step up flush so that it only has 2 steps;
       2.  build some type of little threshold ramp that gets it to the door jamb by just rolling up;
       3.  or when it is finished in the sunroom, I'll just pick it up and set it in the dining room.  That seems to be the easiest way to solve the issue.  Going into the sunroom was no problem at all as you can see in the first video.

I do have the Mova V50 and I gave it a try also. It came in from the sunroom with no problems at all on the first attempt.  Not sure what the difference is between the two - maybe the roller mop makes it harder to get over the threshold??

This is definitely not any major issue with the Z60.  Just something to be aware of if you have a similar door jamb it will need to climb.
