Our lower kitchen cabinets are pretty close to the floor. The clearance between the floor and the bottom of the cabinet is 2.25". The clearance between the bottom of the dishwasher and the floor is 4".
It never fails, I end up with crumbs, onion skins, etc under those lower cabinets. I wanted to see if the Z60 would be able to get under the cabinets. I also have the V50, so I decided a comparison was needed.
I tried 2 different floor settings for the Z60 to see if changing the settings would make a difference on how close it could get to the under cabinet area. It didn't seem to make a difference. The setting that I changed is: Settings > Floor Cleaning Settings > Collision-Avoidance Mode. It was turned on and as you can see in the photo, the Z60 stayed about 2" away from the cabinet. I turned off the Collision-Avoidance Mode and did not notice a difference with the Z60's ability to get closer to the cabinet. As it went past the dishwasher, even though the clearance is higher, it didn't get any closer on either setting.
The V50 seemed to get a little closer to the cabinets but still not underneath. However, when the V50 got to the dishwasher it actually did get underneath that area. I think the ability of the V50 to get under the dishwasher is due to it being slightly shorter than the Z60. According to Mova's website the Z60 is 96mm tall (not including the Lidar) vs only 89.5mm for the V50.
Would I consider either of these results for the Z60 or V50 a fail...absolutely not. They are both fantastic robot vacuums , however, it's something to consider if you are considering these models and have a really small clearance between the floor and the bottom of the cabinets. It just means I will need to get my portable vacuum and sweep under there really quickly.
The overall cleaning performance of the Z60 did a great job on mopping the kitchen floor only leaving the small area under the cabinets untouched.
