The UltraTrim 2.0 Lidax 2000 mover cuts the edges of my lawn dangerously low to 3cm which looks ugly and the low grass is easily torched by the Sun in our dry, hot area. Plus it doesn't detect the adjacent neighbor's lawn by cutting an ugly low cut band between mine and neighbor's lawn. UltraTrim 2.0 is a good feature that needs some improvements such as adding a user defined cut-height and detection of neighboring lawn.
To comply with safety regulations, the blade must not be accessible to fingers during normal operation. This requires either a minimal ground clearance for the cutter head guard or sufficient distance between the blade and the housing.
In UltraTrim mode, the cutter head swings outward, bringing the blade closer to the housing. Therefore, the guards ground clearance must be reduced to ensure safety. With the current design, the cutter head and its guard lift and lower together, so the trimming height is restricted to 3cm to meet safety regulations. Unfortunately no further optimization is possible at this time.
I recommend disabling the UltraTrim setting completely if 3cm is too low for you. The mower will still perform an edge routine after mowing is complete with UltraTrim turned off.
Hi there, the fixed 3cm cutting height in UltraTrim edge trimming mode is determined by safety regulations together with the mechanical structure of the unit.
Per safety standards, the rotating blades must be completely out of reach of fingers while the mower is running. This is achieved either by maintaining a safe gap between the blades and the main housing, or by reducing the ground clearance of the cutting deck guard.
When UltraTrim swings the cutting head outward for close edge trimming, the blades sit much closer to the body shell. To meet safety requirements, the guard’s ground clearance has to be lowered accordingly.
On this model, the cutting disc and protective guard lift and lower as one integrated assembly. To stay compliant with safety rules, we have no choice but to cap the UltraTrim trimming height at 3cm, and this cannot be adjusted on existing units for the time being.
If 3cm is too short for your lawn, you can simply turn off the UltraTrim feature entirely — the robot will still complete a standard edge-trimming pass after finishing the full mowing cycle.
We’ve noted your feedback regarding adjustable trimming height and will look into feasible improvements for future products.
