Why does my border get cut short

Why does my ultra2k go around my border super short? It cuts the grass normal within the boundary, but then does the boundary like this.

The UltraTrim setting cuts at a height of 1.2” around the border and the height cannot be adjusted due to EU/US regulations. I recommend you turn off Ultra Trim if you do not like this.

Yes, as MOVA King mentioned, the edge‑obstacle‑avoidance switch is located in the cutting‑preferences card on the device page of the App, and it is enabled by default.
When turned on, the mower actively avoids obstacles along the border, yet it may leave more uncut grass at edges. If disabled, the robot will not use active obstacle‑avoidance while edge‑mowing, which can reduce edge‑miss‑cutting, but may lead to more collisions. You may turn it on or off according to your actual lawn situation.

Meanwhile, this cutting height cannot be adjusted. Due to EU‑safety‑regulation requirements, when the cutter head shifts sideways for edge trimming, the cutting height is fixed at 3 cm to prevent possible injuries from accidental finger contact with the blades.

If you are concerned about the height difference between lawn edges and inner areas, you can set separate mowing frequencies for inner zones and borders. Lower the edge‑mowing frequency to let the edge grass grow better.
