[V70 Ultra Complete] Multi Floor Bug

I have the latest version of the firmware installed as of this posting for my V70 Ultra Complete robot (4.39.1922).
I have experienced this problem both when mapping a second floor and when the robot completes cleaning a specific location that I select on my second floor. Once the cleaning is completed, as indicated by the voice prompt, the unit states that it is returning to the dock. However, the dock is located on the first floor, so the robot continues to spin around and drive to various locations on the second floor. I eventually have to pick it up, carry it to the first floor, and press the Dock button.
I was under the impression that when starting a cleaning job on a different floor, the robot would return to the location on that floor where I originally placed it before starting the cleaning through the app, rather than attempting to locate the dock on another floor.
A few times, the V70 has finished cleaning my second-floor bedroom and then simply sat there spinning around under the bed. I have had to get down on the floor and physically pull it out from under the bed. A similar situation also occurred when I initially completed the mapping of the second floor.
Is this a known issue, and is there a bug fix in the works to address how the V70 handles cleaning and navigation when operating on a different floor from the dock? Thanks! Rhian

Hello, if you want to start cleaning on another floor, please move the robot to the corresponding floor and manually select the map of that floor in the App to start cleaning. If cleaning this area for the first time, you need to create a new map: on the robot device homepage, go to "Map Management" > "Create Map" and save it after completion.

Note: For models with the station auto-mop-wash function. If you want the robot to return to the dock to wash the mop, please move the dock to the same floor as the robot. If mop washing is not required, please turn off the "Auto Mop Wash" function first.

This is not the issue I am having, as explained in my previous message. I was able to successfully map the second floor with my brand new Mova V70 Ultra. However, after the map creation was completed, and when I select a room on my second floor to clean, I was under the impression that the robot would return to the same physical location on the second floor where I originally placed it before starting the cleaning.

For example, if I physically carry the robot upstairs and place it in the hallway on my second floor, then select my second floor bedroom to clean, I would expect the robot to clean the selected room and, when finished, physically return to that same spot in the second floor hallway where I originally placed it.

Instead, once it finishes cleaning the room on the second floor, the robot announces that it has finished cleaning and that it is returning to the dock. However, the dock is obviously located on the first floor. It then does not return to the physical location where I originally placed it on the second floor. I have noticed that it will instead sometimes move around and spin in circles aimlessly once it has finished cleaning.

So my question is: When the robot is being used on a second floor where the dock is not located, where is it supposed to physically return when it finishes cleaning? I was under the impression that it should return to the exact physical spot on the second floor where I initially placed it.

I hope this makes sense. If this is how the V70 is supposed to operate, then the V70 is definitely not doing this, at least with the latest firmware.

Hi, I’d like to check: In previous use, did the robot use the speaker to prompt you to carry it back to the dock, and even stop at a spot waiting for you? Now does it just wander around trying to find the dock?

We have confirmed the information🙂: If the area is small enough to be cleaned in one go, when you start cleaning on the second‑floor without the dock, the robot will return to its starting position upon finishing the task.
However, if the area is too large to complete cleaning in a single run and the robot needs to go back to wash the mop or empty the dust bin, you will need to pause the task, manually carry the robot down to the dock on the first floor for mop‑washing and dust collection, then bring it back upstairs to resume the cleaning task.

The V70 robot does not return to its starting position to charge.

1. I carry the robot from the dock on the first floor to the second-floor hallway.
2. I change the map to the second floor.
3. I select a room to clean.
4. The robot drives to the selected room and starts cleaning.
5. When cleaning is completed, the robot audio states, “CLEANING COMPLETED. RETURNING TO THE DOCK TO CHARGE.”
6. The V70 robot does not leave the room it cleaned. Instead, it spins around and moves occasionally in that room, but it NEVER returns to the location where I originally placed it.  I have even left it for over an hour and it just continues to move around and spin occasionally. There is an obvious software bug going on.

I ran a test and placed the robot in the 2nd floor hallway at 22:20 USA/New York time.

It drove from the hallway to the small bathroom and completed cleaning at 22:24 USA/New York time. It then announced, “Cleaning Complete. Returning to the Dock to Charge.”

The robot stayed in the bathroom, spinning around and roaming for approximately 3 minutes until I picked it up around 22:27 and physically brought it to the dock, which is located on the first floor.

As indicated previously, the robot does not return to the place in the hallway where I originally placed it.

The serial number of the robot is R5979K66QUS0372633. I am also in the process of sharing the device with support now using ID: HA069213.
