Hi All, I'm back again with another post on the Mova Z60 Ultra Complete, this time covering how the Flexiscope Navigation helps the Z60 clean under low clearance furniture. Full disclosure, I did get this as part of Mova's Get and Create Program.
As I'm sure anyone with a heavy shedding pet knows, any place hair can get to, IT WILL GET TO. It doesn't matter how small the opening is, if there is room, the hair from our furry family members will find it's way there. The problem is two fold. 1. Roller mops are naturally taller than spinning mop robots due to the roller mechanism and 2. Top mounted lidar has been proven to be more efficient than embedded lidar. What this has lead to is either roller mop robots with very high profiles (over 4.5 inches/11.4cm) or have subpar navigation due to embedded lidar.
Well the Z60 Ultra Complete solves that issue with it's Flexiscope Navigation! What the Flexiscope Navigation does is allows the Z60 to have a top mounted lidar that does a great job navigating and then when it needs to reach low clearance area's it retracts the lidar turret taking the overall height of the Z60 from 4.68 inches (11.9cm) to 3.77 inches (9.6cm). The best part is, the rest of the time it's cleaning the room, it will have the lidar turret raised to increase obstacle detection and efficiency.
I've attached some pictures to illustrate the process and I'll explain them here.
1. This picture is taken after the Z60 has identified a low threshold, done a 360 spin to make sure it's clear and is about to lower the lidar tower
2. This highlights the lowered lidar tower on the Z60
3. This picture shows the Z60 under the low clearance bookcase. The clearance is just 4 inches (10.16cm) which is too low for the Z60 when the lidar is raised. But when it lowers it can get under there and make sure all the hair is gone!
4. Thanks to it's wheels, the Z60 is able to turn and navigate no problem in tight spaces. One thing it does while the lidar turret is lowered is turn on it's light to make sure it doesn't miss anything!
5. This picture shows the Z60 right before coming out from underneath the bookcase. You can tell it's going to come out because it stops and raises the side brush.
6. This shows the Z60 successfully leaving the low clearance of the bookcase. It will now do a full 360 turn to make sure nothing is blocking it from raising the lidar turret.
7. The Z60 preforming it's turn.
8. The Z60 has completed it's turn and is about to raise the lidar turret.
9. This shows the Z60 with the lidar turret now fully raised. It is now ready to continue cleaning the house.
Overall, as someone with heavy shedding pets and a long haired human in the house, the ability of the Z60 to get under furniture has been huge. Now the hair truly has no place to hide. Whether it's getting under the bed, coffee table, end table, buffet, bookcase or anything else with legs, the Flexiscope Navigation ensures there is no place for the hair to hide!
I hope you all found this at least a little informative! If you have any questions, please ask away and I'll do my best to answer them. I hope you all have a wonderful day!
