When you’re talking about a fancy new robot vacuum, most of the attention understandably goes to the robot itself, but the Mova Z60 Ultra’s base station deserves some recognition. There are a ton of really thoughtful features here that elevate the overall experience and contribute to making the whole system free truly hands-off.
Starting at the top, you’ve got the clean and dirty water tanks, which are noticeably wider and shorter than the ones on my old P10 Pro Ultra Gen 1. That might not sound like a bleeding edge innovation, but it actually makes them so much easier to fill and handle. Perhaps more interestingly, the clean water tank comes with a scale inhibitor preinstalled. This helps prevent mineral buildup throughout the entire system and is super helpful if you live somewhere with relatively hard water, like I do.
Moving down to the middle of the base station, we’ve got a mix of the new and familiar. The dust bag design looks to be the same one Mova has been using in their recent releases, and honestly, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! The 3.2 L bag can hold 2 to 3 months’ worth of dirt and debris, and it feels thick and well constructed, so you don’t need to fret about it tearing open. The connection between the bag and the dock is also sealed well, which keeps dust contained inside the bag and prevents dirt from accumulating inside the dock.
One of the many unique features of the Z60 Ultra is the dual-compartment detergent module. Unlike my P10 Pro Ultra - and honestly most robot vacuums I’ve seen - this module allows you to use two different cleaning solutions at once. The first compartment is for Mova’s multi-surface cleaner (that’s that big blue 1 L bottle included in the accessories), which the dock automatically mixes into the robot’s internal water tank before cleaning. It’s Mova’s general-use detergent and it’s suitable for a variety of floor types.
The second compartment is more versatile. The Z60 Ultra Complete also includes a bottle of pet odor detergent, which is designed to remove pet-specific stains and odors from the roller mop during the self-cleaning process. However, Mova offers other detergent options on their website, like a dedicated hard floor detergent, and you can select which detergent you’re using in the second compartment via the Mova app. You can also choose whether to dispense detergents from both compartments, or only one or the other!
Speaking of the app, I gotta mention all the cool software integrations with the base station. You can adjust the water temperature used for cleaning the mop roller and customize the drying duration too. I personally chose the longest duration, 5 hours, which works well given the humidity here in Florida. The app also provides helpful status updates on the base station’s current condition. For example, it’ll let you know when the clean water tank is running low or if the dirty water tank is full. It also keeps tabs on the consumables, letting you know when the detergent compartments need refilling or if the dust bag needs to be replaced.
Overall, while it’s tempting to shine the spotlight on the robot itself, especially with all of its cool features like the retractable LIDAR and StepMaster legs, the base station is doing a good bit of heavy lifting behind the scenes. It’s one of the core reasons why the Z60 Ultra really feels like a complete, low-maintenance cleaning system.
