Last post of the trial. For this one I wanted to show the Z60's extending features in action. The robot has SideReach, which dynamically extends the side brush into corners and along walls, and MopExtend, which pushes the roller mop further out to get actual wall-contact coverage.
What surprised me here is that this is a freshly mapped floor. I literally mapped it and ran it without touching the map or placing any furniture. The robot is still extending along edges on its own using real-time detection. In my app deep dive post I mentioned that mapping furniture gives it more opportunities to extend, but clearly the robot doesn't need that to get started. It's reading the environment as it goes.
After a full month with the Z60, I can say it's a genuinely capable robot. The AI features work, the roller mop outperforms any disc pad system I've used, the dock keeps everything clean and odor-free as long as you're using detergent. Standing water tanks with just plain water will get gross smelling quick. Low-clearance corner vacuuming could be better, the offset debris path can clog over time with pets, and CleanGenius is conservative with water on tough stains. But those are things firmware and future hardware revisions can address. For where it is right now, this is a seriously impressive machine.
Thanks for following along. If you have any questions about the Z60 I'm happy to answer in the comments.
Full disclosure: I received this Z60 through MOVA's Get & Create program at no cost in exchange for honest feedback. #sponsored
