The Z60 vs. Dog Hair & Dryer Lint On Carpet! #GetYourZ60

I wanted to put the Z60 through a real-world vacuum test today, specifically focused on pet hair. I’ve already run it a few times around my apartment—on the bedroom carpet, area rugs, and a couple of smaller throw rugs—and overall it’s been doing a solid job. But today, I wanted to push the Z60 a little harder.

Instead of doing a typical test with long hair or staged debris, I decided to use something more realistic for my situation—my dog Milo. He’s short-haired, but he still sheds enough to make cleanup noticeable, especially after grooming.

Normally, when I brush him, I do it in the bathroom since the flooring makes cleanup easier. But for this test, I switched things up and brushed him directly on the carpet. The idea was to see how well the Z60 handles pet hair embedded into carpet fibers, not just sitting on top.

After brushing Milo, I gathered a decent amount of hair and worked it into the carpet a bit to make the test more challenging. I also set some aside to test later on thicker bath mats, but for now, the focus was on the main carpet, which is a fairly low-pile, contractor-grade type.

Once everything was set, I sent the Z60 out in its “Clean Genius” mode, which automatically adjusts suction based on how much dirt or debris it detects.

On the first pass, it picked up a noticeable amount of the hair right away. After a second pass, most of it was gone. There were a few small pieces left behind, especially where the hair had been pushed deeper into the carpet, but overall, it handled the bulk of it pretty well.

To double-check, I manually disturbed the carpet a bit to see if anything was still trapped in the fibers. There was still a small amount left, but after the robot came back over that area again, it cleaned it up.

One thing I noticed—and this could be a feature—is that the vacuum seemed to return to areas that needed a little extra attention. If that’s intentional, it’s a big plus, because it means it’s not just doing a single pass and moving on.

In terms of performance, I’d say the Z60 does a solid job with pet hair on carpet. It’s not perfect if you’re really working hair deep into the fibers, but for everyday shedding and normal conditions, the Z60 gets the job done.

I’m also not too concerned about hair wrapping around the brush roll, since Milo has short hair and that typically isn’t an issue.

Another thing I liked was the visible vacuum lines it left behind—it’s a small detail, but it gives that “just cleaned” look. I do wish there were more control over the cleaning pattern, like being able to choose the direction for those lines, but that’s more of a preference than a real drawback.

Overall, on carpet, the Z60 performs exactly how you’d expect—and honestly, a little better in some areas. For pet owners dealing with regular shedding, it’s more than capable of keeping things under control.

Final verdict for this test: strong performance, especially for real-world use. #GetYourZ60

Full Disclosure: I received the MOVA Z60 Ultra through MOVA’s Get & Create program at no cost in exchange for sharing my honest experience. That said, everything here reflects my real-world use of the vacuum in my own home. My goal isn’t to make staged or overly polished cleaning content—I’m interested in seeing how well this robot performs in everyday living conditions. MOVA also made it clear they want honest feedback, not just positive reviews.
