Transparency

Both units are currently in my home and are used regularly. The MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller Complete was provided for testing, while the Shark unit was purchased. This comparison is based on my personal experience using both machines.

Introduction

We have mentioned both of my main robot vacuums in previous posts, but I had not directly compared them side by side. Since they fall into very different price ranges, I wanted to see how they actually perform when given the same task.

To keep things simple and controlled, I set up a test using coffee grounds on the floor to simulate fine debris that can sometimes be harder for vacuums to fully pick up.

What the Product Claims

Both robots are designed to handle everyday floor cleaning, including dust, dirt, and small debris. The Shark (Vortex) focuses on consistent vacuuming with mapping and self-emptying, while the MOVA Z60 (Ground Scrubber) includes more advanced features along with a mopping system, which I did not use in this test.

How I Tested It

I placed a small amount of coffee grounds on the same section of flooring and had each robot clean the area separately.

To keep the comparison fair:
• I did not use the mopping feature on Ground Scrubber
• Both robots were set to standard suction
• Each robot cleaned the same area under similar conditions

Results and Experience

Both vacuums were able to pick up most of the coffee grounds, but there were some clear differences in how they approached the task.

Ground Scrubber did a solid job overall, but its movement was less precise. It still collected most of the debris, but there were more small particles left behind after the first pass compared to Vortex.

Vortex also moved through the area in a more controlled and methodical pattern. It picked up the majority of the debris in one pass, though it did not get everything completely on its own.

Noise was another noticeable difference. Ground Scrubber ran quieter, while Vortex had a more noticeable vacuum sound during operation.

Pros

Ground Scrubber
• Quieter operation
• Ability to set zones and run targeted cleaning
• Easier to direct for specific messes
• More gentle around furniture and obstacles

Vortex
• Solid and consistent overall cleaning
• Reliable for everyday dirt and debris
• Simpler to operate with fewer settings

Cons

Ground Scrubber
• Higher price point, though the performance helps justify it
• Takes time to learn all features and settings (getting used to it is definitely a learning curve at first)
• Tended to meander a bit more when navigating
• Did not fully clean all coffee grounds in one pass when zone cleaning
• Obstacle avoidance is not perfect and will avoid cords and wires, which can limit coverage in some areas, and where it can go (see video)

Vortex
• Less precise navigation overall
• Does not support zone cleaning, although it does support individual rooms
• Can be rougher around furniture and obstacles

Price and Value  (Initial thoughts based on our usage so far)

Vortex falls into a mid-range price category and delivers reliable performance for general cleaning. Ground Scrubber sits in a higher-end category with more advanced features and stronger overall performance in this test.

The added control, quieter operation, and improved precision with Ground Scrubber may justify the higher cost, especially in homes that deal with frequent dirt, pets, or more demanding cleaning needs.

I will continue running more side-by-side tests in different conditions, including larger debris, rugs, and eventually mopping performance, to see how both units compare over time.
