I wanted to see how the Z60 would handle some tougher rugs, so I tested it on my medium pile (about 0.5"–1") chunky chenille cushion foam bath rugs. These are dark blue and show *everything*, and honestly, they’re almost impossible to get completely clean—even with my upright vacuum.
For the test, I added some dog hair to one of the rugs to give the Z60 something real to deal with. At first, the Z60 took a little time figuring out how to climb up onto the rug. It didn’t just jump on right away—it kind of worked its way up—but this was the first time I really got to see the StepMaster 2.0 and LiftPro Chassis system in action as it climbed up onto the rug.
Once the Z60 got onto the rug, it did a really solid job. What surprised me most is that the Z60 performed just as well, if not better, than my upright vacuum on these rugs. And the big difference? The Z60 didn’t suck the rug up into the rollers like my upright does. My upright constantly gets the rug caught, which stops the rollers from spinning and makes it a hassle to use. The Z60 just handled it and kept going.
Overall, I’m really pleased with how the Z60 performed here. For these types of rugs—which are honestly a pain to clean—this is about as good as I could ask for. Just to be clear, this is only my experience using the Z60, but it handled this test better than I expected.
