I have had the Z60 for a full month now and I have ran a cleaning task everyday. I wanted to report back what I see as far as how the Z60 is looking maintenance wise after using it heavily and not touching anything besides refilling the water tank and emptying the dirty water. I will say one of the negatives of the Z60 vs the spin mop style robot vacuums is that it does go through the water tank faster. If I have it mop the same level of the house the same amount of times, I would have to refill the Z60 water tanks a couple days before I normally would. To me it’s not a huge issue, as it’s just refilling and dumping the dirty water. However it is something to keep that in mind if you are looking to have the longest stretches without having to tend to the robot.
With my other robot vacuum I typically take a few minutes every 2 weeks or so to clean out the dust bin filter of compressed dust, clean out the mop washboard, swap mop pads and clean the sensors. So after 30 days I was interested to see how the Z60 was looking under the hood after not touching it at all. What I found was a really clean undercarriage with very minimal if any hair wrap around the rollers, side brush and wheels. The roller mop was still clean looking, besides it not being as fluffy as when I first started and had no bad odor at all. I had read about odor problems with the Z60 and roller mops in general so I was afraid I would encounter that, but I didn’t at all. I did take the roller mop off and give it a good hand wash with soapy water just to clean and rejuvenate it more. I also had to give the onboard dirty water tank a quick rinse as well. The mop washboard was still really clean looking as well with very minimal dirt and pet hair built up. A quick rinse of that and it looked like new. Lastly when checking the dust bin filter I found some stuck compressed dust, but not nearly as much as I see when I do maintenance on my other robot vacuum. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it does with keeping this filter clean and unclogged. That will definitely help with the long term longevity and cleaning efficiency.
All in all I had to do a little bit of cleaning up under the mop roller section and vacuum rollers and then clean the sensors up. It took me roughly 10 minutes to do everything, so not bad at all. To me this is all very normal and a perfectly fine amount of maintenance after running daily for 30 days. I have been impressed with the functionality and cleaning abilities of the Z60 and I look forward to continued use for months to come.
