MOVA Z60: Remapped the House and Carpet Performance Got Worse?
I love the MOVA Z60, but this is leaving me very confused. I decided to remap the house to see if that would improve the Z60’s carpet performance. Unfortunately, it made things worse. Now the vacuum is “cutting” the room diagonally and treating each slice as its own room. Before the remap, Emo made some odd navigation choices on the carpet, but at least it produced nice, long vacuum lines.
After the new map, it’s like the Z60 suddenly thinks my living room is three or four separate micro‑rooms. It enters, draws a diagonal line, and then cleans each triangular section independently. The result is choppy, broken patterns instead of the long, satisfying passes it used to make.
What’s confusing is that nothing about the room changed — same carpet, same lighting, same furniture. The only difference is the new map. I’m not sure if the Z60 is misinterpreting the carpet texture, the lighting, or the room boundaries, but the behavior definitely shifted after remapping. Additionally, since it's now moving across the room diagonally, the "fin" is catching on the area rug and getting stuck for a few moments, and it lifts itself off the ground.
If anyone else has seen their Z60 start subdividing rooms or displaying strange carpet strategy, I’d love to compare notes. I’m trying to figure out whether this is a mapping bug, or a sensor quirk. Prior to remapping I did clean the sensors. I plan on cleaning them again, and doing another remap. I saved the previous layouts to compare.
Disclaimer: I received this Z60 as part of the MOVA Z60 Get & Create Event. #GetYourZ60
