[S70 Roller] S70 vs S70 Ultra – Which Features Are Exclusive to the Ultra Model?

Hello,

I’m considering buying either the regular MOVA S70 or the S70 Ultra, but I’m not sure about the exact differences between the two models.

For example, I would like to know:

* Does the regular S70 also have a built-in voice assistant (such as “Hey MOVA”)?
* Is the obstacle detection/avoidance system on the regular S70 less advanced compared to the Ultra?
* Does the regular S70 have an automatic cleaning solution dispenser, or does it need to be added manually?

I would really appreciate feedback from anyone who owns the S70, especially regarding these features and the real-life differences compared to the Ultra.

Thank you very much!

Hi! I own the S70 and can answer your specific questions.

1. Only the S70 Ultra has built in voice assistant I believe.
2. Both robots use front-mounted navigation instead of a traditional tall lidar tower, allowing them to stay 90mm tall. The ultra does introduce their new CovertSense navigation though which improves sensing and obstacle recognition.
3. Only the ultra version has automatic dispensing

A few other differences are that the ultra uses 100°C water to clean the mop instead of 80°C water. It also has 32,000pa suction instead of 28,000. Ultra comes with the clean chop brush instead of a traditional rubber roller brush. The Ultra also has a shield for when going over carpet to protect dampness from the roller!

The ultra definitely has some improvements, but overall the s70 has some pretty high quality features for the price!

Thank you for the helpful reply, The built-in voice assistant is actually an important feature for me. If the regular S70 doesn't have it, is it still possible to control it with a smart speaker (for example, through Alexa or Google Assistant)? Also, from your experience, does the S70 ever struggle with small obstacles such as LEGO pieces or small toys, or is its obstacle avoidance generally reliable?

Hi there, there are differences in battery capacity, suction power and water tank volume between these two models, and the S70 Ultra boasts higher specifications across all these performance parameters.

The standard S70 does not come with a built-in onboard voice assistant.

For navigation and obstacle avoidance: the S70 adopts embedded LDS lidar plus single-line laser, while the S70 Ultra is upgraded to embedded LDS lidar, dual-line laser, RGB vision AI and LED fill light for much stronger object recognition capability.

In terms of cleaning solution dispensing: the S70 only supports manual refilling, whereas the dock of the S70 Ultra is equipped with an automatic detergent dispensing function.

Does the S70 Ultra have a built-in voice assistant that works directly on the robot, without requiring any additional devices such as a smart speaker? Also, does the voice assistant require an active internet connection to work, or can it process voice commands locally while connected only to the local Wi-Fi network?

Sorry I cannot reply directly underneath your comment. It does work through Alexa and Google Assistant, yes! It just doesn’t have the “Hey Mova” direct connection.

I haven’t used it enough to say if it can avoid super small obstacles to be frank, but it has been pretty good for me. It avoids dog toys well! It did run into a couple of my door stops that are attached to my trim, however.

Thanks for your question! Let me walk you through the key differences between these two models:

1. The upgraded MOVA S70 Ultra Roller comes equipped with an RGB AI camera, dual-line laser sensors and LED fill lights. It vastly outperforms the standard MOVA S70 Roller when it comes to recognizing complex obstacles, avoiding barriers in low-light conditions, and identifying pet waste or stray power cords.
2. The MOVA S70 Ultra Roller boasts stronger maximum suction power at 32,000 Pa, while the regular MOVA S70 Roller tops out at 30,000 Pa.
3. The base station of the S70 Ultra Roller heats mop pads up to 100°C during the self-wash cycle, compared to a maximum temperature of 80°C on the S70 Roller.
4. It features a larger 6400mAh battery (vs. 5200mAh on the standard version), supporting longer continuous cleaning runs and coverage for bigger homes.
5. The MOVA S70 Ultra Roller includes a standard anti-tangle hair cutting roller brush, which drastically reduces hair wrapping and clogging issues.
6. Its docking station has expanded functionality: it automatically refills cleaning solution and dispenses detergent directly for mopping cycles.

### Voice Assistant Function Breakdown

To address the voice control feature you asked about:
The MOVA S70 Ultra Roller has a built-in native MOVA Voice Assistant, supporting English, German, French, Italian and Spanish voice commands. It also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice activation.
The base MOVA S70 Roller does **not** have an onboard voice assistant, but it remains compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant third-party voice control.

### Obstacle Avoidance System Comparison

The standard S70 Roller uses a single-line laser plus embedded LDS LiDAR navigation, which handles most everyday household scenarios reliably.
The upgraded S70 Ultra Roller combines embedded LDS LiDAR, dual-line laser scanning, RGB AI vision and LED supplementary lighting. If you need reliable detection for tiny, discrete objects around the house, the Ultra variant is strongly recommended.
Its full obstacle avoidance system delivers far higher stability and dependability overall. The dual laser array creates precise home mapping and accurate path planning to reconstruct your home layout. The AI obstacle recognition successfully dodges most common household items such as slippers, pet droppings, power cables and chair/table legs. The LED fill lights allow the robot to navigate and operate normally in dimly lit rooms.
