Unable to create a passage

I have mapped my backyard and have mowed there a few times. I wanted to add my front yard which is separated by a gate. I add a new zone and then it tells me to add a passage. I follow the directions to add a passage and it says passage created. When I choose to finish the map I get the message" The station is not connected to the work area. Please create a path." I have tried this by starting the path in  zone 1 and also tried starting it in the new zone with the same error coming up.

Hello, thank you very much for your feedback. Regarding your issue, you need to meet the following map‑building requirements:
The base station must be connected to at least one working area via a passage; only one passage can be connected between the base station and each working area; one working area must be connected to at least one other working area via a passage; one passage cannot run through multiple zones.
