V70 Ultra Complete is not currently available as a product selection under the Support section of this forum, so I am posting this under General Product because I need this issue brought to the attention of MOVA’s technical team.
I want to share some background before describing the problems I’m now experiencing with my new V70 Ultra Complete, because I think other customers should be aware of what has happened with my experience with MOVA.
I recently returned a V50 Ultra Complete after experiencing repeated problems with it. I purchased it June 1 and began experiencing issues shortly after setting it up, including missed areas, large areas being skipped, incorrect cleaning paths, unexpected behavior between rooms, carpet/navigation problems, and other cleaning inconsistencies.
At MOVA’s request, I spent a significant amount of time testing the robot, including installing and testing debug firmware, running specific cleaning tests, providing dates of failures, screenshots, maps and logs, and communicating with technical support throughout the process. I was essentially troubleshooting and testing the machine extensively for MOVA even though I am a customer, not a MOVA employee or their technician.
Unfortunately, my Amazon return window expired while I was working with MOVA on these issues. MOVA’s responses regarding the resolution were also inconsistent. At different points I was told about a replacement, then directed to sales, then told a replacement could not be provided, and later offered a repair. Eventually MOVA’s technical team recommended a return and full refund because, in their words, repair or replacement might not fundamentally eliminate the behaviors I was experiencing. The sales team kept asking me to wait.
By that point, Amazon ultimately stepped in and approved a full refund even though I was already outside the normal return period. I had to return the V50 immediately in order to preserve that refund.
I am now experiencing serious problems with my new V70 Ultra Complete, which is particularly concerning given everything that happened with the V50.
I am reporting several ongoing issues with my new Mova V70 Ultra Complete. I have video evidence of the most serious problem.
1. LiDAR turret incorrectly raising and scraping under low-clearance furniture (with video)
The robot repeatedly enters a low-clearance area under a bench in the foyer, then raises the LiDAR turret (the section with the Home/Dock buttons) high enough to scrape while underneath.
• Auto-Lifting LDS is set to Security Coverage (not Extreme Coverage)
• A Low Clearance zone is present under the bench
• Room dividers have also been added
Despite these settings, the robot still raises the turret and scrapes. I have video of this occurring.
2. Carpet recognition / Feedback not saving
I have repeatedly used the Feedback feature to mark specific area rugs as “Carpet.” The robot continues to flag the exact same rugs as “Obstacle” on later cleaning runs and requests feedback again. The correction does not appear to be saving.
3. Robot prioritizes carpets even though “Clean Carpets First” is turned off
“Clean Carpets First” is disabled (applies to All carpets), yet the robot still cleans carpeted areas first.
4. High battery consumption on early runs
On an early cleaning the robot started at 100%, ran for 118 minutes, cleaned only about 540 ft², and dropped to 19%.
I would like these issues investigated while the unit is still new. Please let me know the best way to submit the video, logs, screenshots, and map data.
Interestingly, before I added the Low Clearance zone under the bench today, the robot would only pause underneath. After I added the Low Clearance zone, it began raising the LiDAR turret and scraping. The Low Clearance setting appears to be causing the opposite behavior of what is intended.
