Watch out for ants!

When I opened the cover of my 1000 I discovered a bunch of ants and their white things (eggs?).

They were coming from inside as well.

Out to the store to buy some bait. I sprayed around the charging station and (very carefully) the outside of the robot.

Ants and electronics, what can we do.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused. The machine has an IPX6 waterproof rating and works fine for daily water exposure. I fully understand how troublesome it is to have ants getting inside the unit. Could you tell me where exactly the ants are coming from inside the machine, such as the base plate or somewhere else? It would be great if you could share a video showing this.

Thanks for the answer. I'll try to record a video after the rain. But I'm hoping I'll not see any ants after all the spraying I did!They were coming from the stop button and from the hinge of the main panel.

Thank you for your prompt reply. 🙂 Structurally, the robot’s outer shell is separated from its internal electronic components. Ants are generally unlikely to penetrate the shell and get inside the machine through these two locations. However, these two spots are moving parts, so there are indeed small gaps on the outer shell.
If you plan to use insect spray, please close the robot’s cover first and only spray a small amount on the surface of the shell. In addition, you may try using a vacuum cleaner to see if you can suck the ants out through the gaps.

Thank you. Yeah they are all dead now. I'll keep an eye. Didn't think about using a vacuum, that's a great idea. I used the leaf blower, but vacuum is better. Thanks
