I was fortunate enough to be chosen to test the LiDAX Ultra 2000 AWD. I have experience with robotic vacuums but this is my first experience with a robotic lawnmower. Let me start with two words VERY IMPRESSIVE!!
As others have stated, there is some initial user interaction with the robot as you create your primary zones, driving the robot around the perimeters and creating paths between zones as necessary.
I have Bermuda grass that is still in dormancy but Spring is right around the corner. So, this robot mower and I started work on the dormant grass to prepare it for the green up ahead. I have multiple zones in my front yard due to sidewalks and driveways. My backyard is subdivided into three zones. I have a gate with a rocked area separating front and backyards. A gate separates my primary backyard from a weedy, rougher slightly hilly extended backyard.
I'll add some videos so you can see how it travels over rocks, edges close to the fence, mows nice lines and deals with the rougher hilly area. (the hill is steeper than it looks)
This robot can mow your whole yard, one zone, multiple zones or even one spot. You can control the height of cut and make it different for each zone. Change the direction of cut for each zone. Set it up so successive cuts are offset by 45° or 90°. Schedule mowing tasks and more. You're in control and you can do it "from your easy chair" using the Mova app. POWERFUL!!
