Hi everyone! I’ve been testing the Z60 via Mova’s #GetYourZ60 program, and the one part of my apartment that I use it in more than anywhere else is the kitchen, so I wanted to do a post focusing on that.
I like to cook a lot, so there are often crumbs or stains that end up on my kitchen floor. Sometimes I end up cleaning my kitchen with the Z60 twice a day — once around noon during my scheduled daily cleaning, and again at the end of the day to clean up anything that’s accumulated since making dinner, etc.
My previous robot sometimes struggled a bit with these extra messes, so I was excited to see that the Z60 has really kept up. The roller mop does a great job with any dried on stains, and the vacuum’s suction is strong, getting rid of crumbs easily. I’ll usually just run it on CleanGenius mode, but if there’s a lot of debris on the floor, then I’ll switch it to Custom mode with the suction turned up to make sure everything gets picked up.
On top of this, my kitchen’s layout also isn’t the easiest or most spacious. My kitchen is pretty narrow as it is, and then on top of that, as you can see in the pictures, my trash/recycling cans and a storage unit all stick out into the entryway to the kitchen, making the space a bit harder to navigate and limiting the room that the Z60 has to enter/exit and move around the kitchen. There are also a lot of low-clearance areas under the cabinets and appliances. I also have a standing mat in front of the stove, and I wasn’t sure if the Z60 would incorrectly label it as a carpet and not mop it.
Nevertheless, the Z60 has done really well at getting to know my kitchen’s layout and navigating these obstacles. It never misidentified the standing mat and has continued to mop it, and it also automatically labeled the areas underneath the cabinets/appliances as low-clearance areas, so it automatically retracts its LIDAR sensor to get under those spaces without me having to manually mark anything in the app. It’s been great at navigating the narrow entry/exit zone too.
As you can see in the pictures, my kitchen floors are quite clean, and it’s all thanks to the Z60 — I haven’t had to vacuum or mop by hand once to “touch up” any missed areas since getting this robot! It’s really great to see how robust this vacuum is in action.
