Runner Carpet Interactions: S20 vs. Z60

I’ve noticed an immediate difference between the S20 and the Z60 when it comes to avoiding obstacles and getting themselves out of tough positions.
The test: out hallway runner is usually a challenge to robot vacuums. they typically get stuck here, and i have to manually pick them up or detangle the tassels from the vaccum. i wanted to see how both robots interact with this difficult fabric.
The Z60: by auto detecting carpet, the Z60 can get itself unstuck fairly easily. during the cleaning task, the Z60 cleaned the non-carpeted areas first, then tackled the carpet. it adjusted itself according to the suction power needed for the different materials, as you can hear in the sound of the video. it does a great job at lifting itself up due to its back wheel feature. the carpet still folded on itself, but then the Z60 went back over and smoothed it out. pretty cool!
S20: this robot vacuum  is persistent, but at least it doesn’t get stuck! as you can see, it rams up onto the carpet, doesn’t adjust suction power, has a tough time getting itself unstuck, and the carpet still ended up folded over itself.
Result: the Z60 takes the cake with this one! the cleaning task was completed by both robots without either of them getting stuck on this difficult material, but the Z60 did a much better job at getting itself out of the mess that is the tassels on this material
