When I first got the Mova Z60 and turned it on, I was shocked by how quiet it was. The normal suction level seemed to work well overall, and the max suction couldn't be heard from the floor above. However, the rolling of the robot could be heard. The Mova Z60 has sort of "all-surface" wheels that allow it to conquer multiple floor types and carpets while not getting stuck on them. That is great, except for hardwood/flat surfaces floors where it can get annoying. It is occasional, but the Mova Z60 zips around quicker than usual and the tread pattern on the wheels causes it to vibrate the floors rapidly, making noise. The noise is sort of like how trucks/off-road vehicles have wider more aggressive tread tires that make a wrrrr past you on the highway, except it's on a much smaller scale but and the tires are especially rough. Since my flooring around my house is hardwood, I would like an option to have smooth wheels. It would compromise grip on surfaces like carpet, but I'm willing to make the trade-off. If I still wanted to use the Z60 on carpet, I could use the carpet raise feature so that it doesn't get stuck as easily, though that might compromise cleaning performance.
Back to the title question, does it keep it quiet and give good results?
Yes, it does, with some major caveats that might affect your decision to use it at night. It performs well on the floor below, but I have never tried it on the same floor as me at night. It would likely be too loud in that case. Otherwise, with the Z60 being on the floor below and vacuuming and mopping, it does well.
I have noticed that the camera doesn't see that well, so maybe a few LEDs towards the top of the machine instead of next to the camera would allow better lighting for obstacle avoidance. It hit the floorboard door stoppers (that make the springy noise when you bend them and let go) and got a bit stuck on them, then went around them. It consistently did that so I would like to see obstacle avoidance improved. If the door was open all the way, then there were no issues.
Also, another important issue I noticed is that the Z60 sometimes randomly leaves its dock at night and roams around trying to find the dock (that it was just at) and going around and around killing its battery. This issue happened to me twice, both at night after it docked when finished cleaning, and both times I needed to manually place the robot on the dock. I tried having it dock through the app and through the buttons on the robot, but no luck. I've reported this issue through the app, with screen recordings of the issue, but I haven't received a response yet.
Hopefully that issue is an easy firmware fix.
