Updating the map

Hi,

Today was my 4th run of the Z60.  It's working well, but I wanted to see how well it would add rooms to a map that it had used for the past 3 runs.  The prior runs I kept the doors to those areas closed for various reasons.  To see if it would update the map real time, I opened the doors to these rooms before I started the clean cycle.

Yes, it absolutely updated the rooms, but I found it interesting how it worked.  The first new room was a bedroom.  I have a hallway off the living room that leads to 3 bedrooms and a bath.  Two of the bedrooms and the bath were already mapped.  I have the two bedrooms set as the first rooms to clean with the bathrooms set as the last rooms to clean, just so it's not mopping the bathroom then going to other rooms like the kitchen.  It cleaned both bedrooms, stopped at the 3rd bedroom to "peak" inside.  Seriously, that's what it appeared to be doing.  It sat in the hallway for a moment, then completed the cleaning of all the rooms in the existing map.  When it had completed all the rooms, including the bathrooms, it went back to the new bedroom and cleaned it.  When I viewed the map, it had added it to the existing map.

The 2nd room that I added with this clean is a 3 season sunroom off of our dining room.  It added a brief drawing of the room but did not attempt to clean.  After cleaning the new bedroom, it stated it was complete and went back to the dock.  Looking at the map, it had recognized there was another room there and added a brief outline of the room, but it also added an impassable threshold.  I'm guessing it did that due to the sliding glass door that separates the dining room from the sunroom.  The track prevented the Z60 from just rolling into the room.  It added the room to the map assuming that room was part of the dining room.

I replaced the impassable threshold with a passable threshold on the map and sent it to clean just the dining room.  It worked and went into the sunroom to clean as well.

I renamed the rooms, added the cleaning sequence for them and updated the flooring.  The map pic shows the new rooms labeled "storage room" and "balcony".  Very easy to do.

The Z60 did a great job of updating the map and going in and cleaning those rooms real-time without any intervention (except for the sunroom which was understandable).
