[2000 Lawn Mower] App control

I’m a pretty technical guy - I design and write software for a living. The app is pretty frustrating to use and not super intuitive. Does anyone else feel that way? If it’s not it going to be fixed/enhanced, it would be nice if there were at least more documentation and guides on it.

What do you find not intuitive about it?

Hi,there~ We fully understand your concerns and have carefully noted your feedback: the app's operation is not intuitive enough and urgently needs optimization and an upgrade. A more detailed user guide is also required.

Could you please tell us what other shortcomings or inconveniences you encountered while using this software? We will compile all suggestions and forward them to the technical team for optimization and improvement. Thank you very much for your valuable feedback!

I’ve had the Lidax 3000 for 2 days now and can support the comments here about the app.  Let me give a few examples:
1) The “joy stick” which is hyper sensitive and very awkward to use with the joystick in the opposite corner on the screen from my hand.
2) I see that 4G is available but there is no way of finding out for how long.  The manual says to go to the Link Module but tapping on that does nothing.
3) After 2 days I still can not figure out why the mower goes half way around the zone to get back to the charging station.
4) Trying to set a no-go zone is very frustrating.  If I select a shape (like a rectangle) I have to guess where to put it and, after setting it there is no way to adjust it - have to delete it and start over.  Same with paths.
5) Creating additional zones is very cumbersome.  Have to tap “Map” then tap “All Zones” to see the drop down box, select “Zones”, tap “Edit” then tap “Set Zones”.  Multiple taps and swipes just to add a zone.  And the only way to add a zone is to start from the charging station which is quicker to do by just picking it up and carrying it back to the station.
6) No-go zones (like around trees) means the mower will only cut to the outer edge of the path it creates leaving about 12-15” of uncut grass.
7) No way to manually move the mower with the joystick unless setting a zone starting point or mowing.  It ends up being easier to turn it off and physically pick it up and move it then turn it back on.
8) The edge mowing cuts so short as to scalp the grass leaving it wildly shorter than all but the shortest height setting.
Please don’t misunderstand - the hardware is awesome.  But I’ve spent 2 days with it so far - about 15 minutes went into setting it up and the rest of the 2 days trying to figure out the app and map out the yard.  I finally got it to mow a zone that is about 1/4 of the yard and it missed a lot of grass around the no-go zones.
Add to the list above.  Just tried to add a rectangular no-go area.  The dimensions are shown as I change the size but only the top 25% of the numbers are visible and almost impossible to read.
Update to the above post.  Just finished a “complete” mow.  The good part is that the hardware is very good.  Clean cut, straight lines, and returned back to the charging station to recharge.  Things to improve: 1) It only cuts a path that isn’t even half the width of the mower and, thus, wastes a TON of battery charge.  If it can recognize the center between a mowed and unmoved area then it can offset a certain distance.  2) Several times it will stop mowing in an area it’s doing, go to a completely different part of the lawn that it already mowed, cover that area at least 4 more times, then return back to the original area it left unmoved.  Again, wasting a TON of battery charge.  3) It tried to go over a rock (18”Wx10”Dx6” high) and got stuck.  Had to lift it off the rock and was promptly told to put it back on the ground and enter the PIN.  Had to lift it off the rock and was promptly told to put it back on the ground and enter the PIN.  Had to lift it off the rock and was promptly told to put it back on the ground and enter the PIN.  Except when I put it on the ground there was no way to enter a PIN.  I ended up picking it up again, put it down again, and finally got the option to enter the PIN.  Plus there is no way to enter the PIN from the app meaning that if I’m not where the mower is, it will just sit there dead in the water.  4) Several times it mowed a row or section it had already done and will repeat that as many as 7 times.  No explanation as to why but, yet again, a lot of wasted battery charge.  These are all software related issues that can and, I really hope, will be fixed soon.  I really want to like this product and basically I do.  But there are a lot of frustrating software issues.  I hope Dreame/Mova will address these or tell me why they happen and how to fix them.
