Maintenance!

3 weeks ago I upgraded to the v50 ultra from another one that I had that admittedly worked well in terms of cleaning- however that came at a cost of having to remember to maintain it every week. The point of having the robovac is to save time/work so having to constantly maintain it was a bit of a pain. There were 3 maintenance items that I really was curious about coming from my old Dreame X40 to the V50 and those are:
-Dust bin/filter: previously this thing would get loaded up with my dogs fur every week. Eventually my filter clogged up after a few runs, then would no longer actually pick things up until I cleaned it. Mostly what would happen is it would pick up a minimal amount of dirt but leave the rest for the mop… which obviously causes other problems. After 3 weeks the filter actually did seem quite dirty, which is to be expected however there was absolutely ZERO loss of functionality on the vacuum. It picked up everything and I had no problems at all, even vacuuming carpet it grabbed everything. Massive upgrade.
-Roller: I had the tricut brush on my Dreame x40. It worked better than the stock but I still had to constantly clean up my wife’s hair at the end of the rollers. The v50 roller system I have literally nothing. I was expecting to at least remove a little bit, but with the new dual rollers I had absolutely nada, zilch, to clean up. Again, massssive upgrade!!
-water filter: so I think this is a combination of the new cleaning system, upgraded vacuuming capability (so it ends up mopping less dirt) as well as the new filter but this was probably the biggest upgrade for me. There’s nothing to clean out!! This always got super gross on my old mop if I forgot. But I haven’t touched it in 3 weeks and there’s still nothing there to clean!
All in all, not only does this improve on cleaning, for me the biggest change is the less maintenance I have to do now. I used to clean the 3 things above every Sunday on my old robot and expected the v50 to get a bit gross after 3 weeks… but the v50 exceeded my expectations with this!
