[P50 Pro Ultra] Issues Vacuuming Carpet

Last edited by WJ464803 on 2026-1-7 04:00

We just received our P50 Pro Ultra yesterday and have very mixed reviews.
The initial mapping turned out ok.
It seems to clean and mop the hard floors alright.
It does not do a good job at all vacuuming the carpeted rooms.  Seems erratic anytime it's on carpeting.

Could it be that the mapping is bad?
What are the different floor materials? They don't make much sense...
Does it get a better idea of the room every time that it cleans it?  Or does it just go off the initial mapping?

Help needed before my wife kills me for buying this thing.

Hello,

If your home has long-pile carpets or black-colored carpets, the robot may not be able to clean them properly. The issue of erratic cleaning paths on carpets is not related to the mapping.

In the app, the “Floor Materials” option refers to the layout direction of your floor tiles:

- If your tiles are square-shaped, please select “Floor tile.”

- If you have horizontally laid rectangular tiles, select “Floor (horizontal).”

- If you have vertically laid rectangular tiles, select “Floor (vertical).”

- If your tile shape or layout does not match any of the above, select “Others.”

Please also enable the “Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance” feature in the settings. With this enabled, the robot will gradually optimize the map during each cleaning session.
