🪟 I let a 3 pound robot hang off my door: MOVA N1 Robot Window Cleaner

If you've never seen one of these, the MOVA N1 sticks to the glass with 8000Pa of suction, plans its own route, and mists and wipes the pane while you go do something else. It's the only released window robot in MOVA's lineup right now.

I ran mine on a sliding glass door, the pane I put off longest. Getting it going is quick: rinse the pad, snap it on, fill the tank, and run the app setup. Compare that to dragging out a bucket, the Windex and a roll of paper towels, and the robot wins before it ever touches the glass.

Doing it by hand still wins for me on stubborn stains because the N1 has no dirt detection, so a baked on spot gets the same treatment as everywhere else. Give it a sensor that catches what it missed and add a spinning or roller pad, and it would close most of that gap.

The 100ml bottle of MOVA solution in the box is gone after one session, though plain water cleans fine, so I stopped worrying about replacing it. Also when removing the robot off the glass it sometimes leaves a wet patch behind where it was sitting.

I'd also like a real battery in the next one. The cord is long and MOVA includes an extension, but corded means you're one outlet short somewhere.

I skipped using the safety rope on my single story house, which is a gamble if the robot lets go, but plenty of my windows have nothing above them worth tying to. I wish it could be removed.

For a first generation product I like it more than I thought I would, and on a large pane it's a lot less work than doing it myself. What do you think?
