questions on obstacle detection

I've had my v50 for a couple weeks now and there are a few issues I can't seem to figure out that I'm hoping someone can help with.  The robot seems to find a lot of "obstacles" that aren't really obstacles and then doesn't do a very good job of cleaning around them.  Two stainless steel trash cans are good examples.  The dog's water bowl is another.  Is there any way to help it learn what these are so it doesn't just avoid them?
Also I'm not sure what is the correct way to handle small rugs at door entrances.  We have what are called "muddy mats" to collect what the dogs bring in from outside and I manually entered these as carpets because I didn't want it trying to mop these.  Occasionally we need to wash these mats so it would be nice if the robot did mop and vac where the carpet was so how do we handle that situation?  Would it have been better to not enter these as carpets and just let the robot do it's thing?

1. Please make sure the "Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance" function of the robot is turned on.
2. Supported recognition targets: currently the intelligent recognition only covers shoes (slippers), socks, cleaning cloths, cables, weight scales and charging bases.
3. Normal behavior: The obstacle avoidance algorithm will choose either slow‑down gentle touch avoidance or non‑contact avoidance according to situations. Light touching is normal.
4. Lighting condition: Poor ambient light will weaken visual recognition performance. We recommend using this function under sufficient lighting.
5. Complex environment: If your home background is complicated or objects have special shapes, the robot may take longer to identify them and may bump. Regularly clean the camera lens to keep recognition accurate.

For your rugs: you can delete the manually added carpet marker, then run a full‑house cleaning. Once the robot automatically identifies the area as carpet, you can select this carpet zone separately and set your preferred cleaning mode.
