Let’s talk about a tiny imperfection in an otherwise perfect experience.
My bathroom is a bit of a challenge for any tech—it has floor-to-ceiling mirrors on all sides. I’ve been watching how the MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller (which I received for free for an honest review through the #GetYourZ60 Program) handles this "Mirror Maze."
The "Ghost" Map:
If you look at my map, the bathroom walls look a bit... infinite. Because the LiDAR laser reflects off the mirrors, the robot thinks there are "ghost rooms" extending beyond the actual walls. The map boundaries aren't perfectly straight lines in this area.
Why I’m Not Worried:
I know that many people use Virtual Walls in the app to "fix" the map and block those reflections, but honestly? I haven't bothered doing that. Why? Because it simply doesn't affect the cleaning!
Even though the map looks a bit chaotic in that corner, the Z60's sensors are incredibly smart:
* Obstacle Avoidance: Despite the reflections, the robot accurately identifies real obstacles on the floor.
* Precision: It cleans right up to the edge of the glass without bumping or getting confused. It knows exactly where the floor ends and the mirror begins.
The Verdict:
Yes, the map isn't "perfectly Instagrammable" in the mirror zone, but the robot's logic is flawless. It maneuvers through the reflections like a pro, and that's what matters most to me. It’s a small visual quirk that proves how hard the technology is working behind the scenes.
